Fulbright-CHED Scholarship (University of Washington, Seattle)

The Fulbright Program, the flagship international academic exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, has fostered mutual understanding between the United States and other countries since 1946. Fulbright is unique in its binationalism and noted for its merit-based selection process and academic prestige.

The objective of a Fulbright-CHED grant is to enable qualified higher education faculty and staff currently affiliated with CHED-recognized higher education institutions, to pursue doctoral studies in the United States to upgrade the country’s higher education system, fast-track the Higher Education Reform Agenda, and develop leaders who can contribute to promoting better understanding between the Philippines and the United States.

Paula-Ann Prize in Geography (Royal Holloway, University of London 2012)
The Paula-Ann Prize was set up in memory of Paula-Ann who graduated from Royal Holloway in Geography in 1992 and tragically died soon after.

The Paula-Ann Prize is awarded annually towards meeting the costs of dissertation fieldwork expenses for a student undertaking any master’s programme in the Department of Geography.

ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (2011)

ASEAN Champions for Biodiversity

The ASEAN Champions for Biodiversity 3rd Place Award was conferred by the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity to ASAPHIL-U.P. in 2011 for the activity on spreading awareness of Philippine wetlands and biological diversity through a Wetland Education Centre design competition that was spearheaded by a group led by Mary Grace Montemayor and mentored by myself.

Encouragement Award Regional Winner

The LafargeHolcim Awards seeks leading projects of professionals as well as bold ideas from the Next Generation that combine sustainable construction solutions with architectural excellence. The Awards offer a total of USD 2 million in prize money and foreground projects and concepts from architecture, engineering, urban planning, materials science, construction technology, and related fields. 

The Next Generation (Encouragement Award) category for young professionals and students up to 30 years of age seeks visions and bold ideas.

Bayer Young Environmental Envoy

Regional Finalist

Each year, around 50 Young Environmental Envoys from around the world have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Germany to learn about trends and perspectives in the field of environmental protection and sustainability.
