Aaron Julius M. Lecciones

Aaron Lecciones is a registered and licensed Architect in the Philippines and an Assistant Professor and former Director for Extension Services at the College of Architecture, UP Diliman. Arch. Aaron earned his BS Architecture and MA in Urban and Regional Planning degrees from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and an MSc in Practising Sustainable Development with distinction at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is currently a 2022 Fulbright-CHED Scholar pursuing a PhD in Urban Design and Planning at the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington, Seattle.  He was a recipient of the 2011 British Chevening Scholarship and a regional winner of the 2005 Holcim Awards for Sustainable Construction. Arch. Aaron’s research interests are at the intersection of sustainable and resilient urban design, wetland conservation and management, nature-based solutions, and green buildings.

His 15 years of experience span work in design and construction, tourism, disaster risk reduction and management, climate change, and sustainable development in the Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, ASEAN Member States, and Canada. He is also the lead Architect of the Ramsar-listed Las Piñas – Parañaque Wetland Park’s Wetland Center. Before joining the UP College of Architecture, he was previously Assistant Professor at the College of Human Ecology, UPLB; Senior Lecturer at the College of Architecture, FEATI University; and Senior Lecturer at the Architecture and Multimedia Arts programs of the School of Design and Arts at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. 

Architect Aaron also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Inc. and is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Society for Ecological Restoration.
